Hollywood noir meets Broadway razzle-dazzle in “Sunset Boulevard”, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical adaptation of Billy Wilder’s classic film. Aurora’s Vintage Theatre brings to life the dramatic story of Norma Desmond, a fading star of the silent film era who has retreated to her decaying mansion to live in the past. When the ambitious young screenwriter Joe Gillis stumbles into her world, she sees an opportunity to make her big comeback, and he sees an opportunity to make a quick buck. As their relationship becomes increasingly complicated, Joe finds himself on a crash course to disaster that can only end in murder and madness. The original Broadway production claimed seven Tony Awards in 1995, including Best Musical, and features memorable songs such as “With One Look” and “As If We Never Said Goodbye.”
