LIVE COMEDY ABOUT WRINKLES AND WISDOM

SMILES by Robert F. Benjamin is both a children’s play and an upbeat comedy about “Aging with Grace, Courage and Humor.”  A grandfather banters with his bright, school-age granddaughter, Jamie, about the meaning of wrinkles and the role of a family’s wisdom-keeper. As they tease each other, Jamie seems to outsmart Grandpa. Or did Grandpa intend that outcome? Glass Slipper Productions will perform this brief staged reading, immediately followed by a facilitated discussion of the play’s many issues about aging and inter-generational connections.

Play synopsis:  Jamie, age 8, banters with her grandfather about the meaning of wrinkles and the role of a family’s wisdom-keeper.  As they tease each other, Jamie seems to outsmart Grandpa. Or did Grandpa intend the outcome?

Robert Benjamin’s previous productions of plays about aging and inter-generational perspectives:  Still in the Game, Salt and Pepper,  Not Quite Right,  Parted Waters and 14 short plays.
