Resource guide for grandparents and their families
Philatelists of all ages are placing a stamp on Denver. What’s a philatelist? A stamp collector, of course. And hundreds will be at the Rocky Mountain Stamp Show on Friday to Sunday, May 26 to 28 at The Crown Plaza Hotel DIA. The Show is a lot of fun. Stamps are snapshots of the past and present and can tell the story or a person, place or time. Many can take you to exotic destinations or on a journey into space.
During the show, seminars will be given by the Military Postal History Society, the American Society of Polar Philatelists and the Colorado Postal History Society. About 35 dealers will showcase their wares and “What’s in Your Attic?” offers FREE, no obligation, advice for those who want to learn more about inherited stamp albums and old family collections. Young stamp collectors can attend Stamp Camp Denver, a four-hour program at 10 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday.
Hours are: Friday & Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $2 per day or $5 for all three days. Kids accompanied by an adult are FREE.
