Museum Mission

The Frisco Historic Park & Museum preserves and promotes the Town of Frisco’s heritage and history by presenting an excellent educational museum experience to the community and its visitors, connecting the past, present and future to the world around us.

FRISCO’S HISTORY ON DISPLAY

Frisco’s history in the Mountain West is full of passion and prosperity, heartbreak and rejuvenation, going back to the early nineteenth century and some 7,000 years before that with early Ute settlements.

Known as one of areas most significant heritage attractions, the Town of Frisco officially dedicated and opened the Frisco Historic Park & Museum on July 2, 1983, and listed the Schoolhouse on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Frisco Historic Park & Museum is fulfilling its mission by presenting how our history fits in to where we are now. Besides the collections of artifacts and structures that interpret Frisco and its people, the museum holds regular lectures, guided hikes, tours and other events designed to bring the past to life.

Walk through the historic park and imagine life in the mountains across the past centuries, down to the personalities of the prospectors, town officials, influential citizens and their lives. Orignally utilized by the Ute and trappers for settlement, and then by the mining and railroad industry, the Town of Frisco nearly diminished but now hosts millions of visitors per year. Experience the story of that incredible journey.

Put your hands on the history, and experience the roots of this Mountain West culture. Visit the Frisco Historic Park & Museum on 2nd and Main Street, in downtown Frisco.
