Resource guide for grandparents and their families
A legal misdemeanor has mandated that David, 30, an upper-class charmer, attend Connections, a social center for adults with autism.
David is soon paired with Sarah, 24, the group’s most enthusiastic member, and while he is less than enthused, he doesn’t yet realize that this quirky bundle of energy just might hold the key to his happiness.
This endearing narrative film is unique in its non-professional cast of actors with autism, all of whom are members of the Adaptations Group at the JCC Manhattan, cast alongside seasoned and recognizable actors such as Jessica Walter (Arrested Development, Archer). Director Rachel Israel notes, “Our ambition is to tell a love story that transcends the subject of disability and speaks to the universal need for human connection, and in the process to show how actors with autism can deliver compelling performances that are relatable to a wide audience.”
