Chinese New Year Celebration

Highlands Ranch Cultural Affairs Association and the SCFD is partnering with Great Wall Chinese Academy to present a cultural program to celebrate Chinese New Year and the year of the Fire Rooster. The ROOSTER people are industrious, diligent, and devoted to work.  They love to travel because of their courageous and adventurous spirit.  They are deep thinkers, but can often be eccentric.  They are not at all shy and prone to exaggerate and boast on all matters.  Rooster people make good travel and public relation agents, dentists, surgeons, cooks or beauticians.

The program features exciting Chinese dragon and lion dances, beautiful Chinese folk dances, amazing Chinese martial art – Kung Fu, and well-prepared choral and instrumental performances. All performers are talented school-age individuals. Learn more about this rich culture by experiencing the traditions of Chinese New Year. All children will receive a red envelope, the traditional means of giving a blessing to the younger generation in the Chinese New Year. Chinese souvenirs will be available for purchase.

Performance:  2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Cultural Fair:  12:00 – 4:00 p.m.

 Tickets:  $8 early bird pricing, $11 week of event, if not sold out. Children 2 and under sitting on parent’s lap are free.
