Contact lenses that can take pictures and video? Who would have thought? Actually, the people at Sony did and now have filed a patent for it. They claim that it can record video and even play it back for users. All with the blink of an eye. Sony calls them Smart Eyes.

Now that Google glasses have faded from tech news, we now have something else to talk about for the eyeballs.
Sony claims this is a full working camera worn on the eyeball. It has a lens unit, image sensor, microchip processor and storage unit on the contact lens! It also has a built-in wireless antenna to transmit pictures to any device (smartphone or laptop for example).
I remember the first day I got contacts, I dropped one onto the carpet. My Father and I were on our hands and knees combing the carpet to try and find it. Imagine dropping one of these puppies. How much do you think they will cost?
I’m pretty certain optometrists will be clamoring to sell these. They need something to bring people back into their practices. It might also bring back Steve Austin, the Six Million Dollar Man.
